New AlphaStation user...

Hi,
This my first post here.  I just bought an AlphaStation-200,
Model=PB41A-DB, without HD, KBD, speakers, mirophone, or CD-drive.  I
have the following questions:
. I plugged in standard KBD, but only letters are accepted, any data
entry as the SRM console is scrolling will reboot system.  Is there a way
to fix this?  If not, where can I find compatible inexpesive KBD?
. Once setup, I'm planning to run debian-linux (i.e. hamm?), where do I
start?
If this is the wrong place to ask, please direct to correct group.
