I think there is a slight chance that alpha-patches can go into 2.0.x.
There are quite a number of patches outside arch/alpha that may look
scary, but I doubt they really affect other architectures.  In fact, I
don't know how important they are for alpha, so I can't answer your
question.  Personally, I would prefer to see the whole lot incorporated: 
these patches have matured together for years...
