Same here. I compiled a static 1.4.0.22 (linked to libdpkg statically) and
it works ok now.
I have another problem now:
I compiled the kernel with the enhanced realtime clock, because hwclock
wasnt working (no device behind /dev/rtc) ... well... the results were
interesting. I didn't think it would be freeze... but it was. Now I don't
know how to set the clock :(
