As a side note, there is a project called OpenLDAP (www.openldap.org). They are developing an open source LDAP suite based on UMich version and claim to have fixed lots of bugs. Last time I checked though, the signal problem was still there... Perhaps this OpenLDAP may be worth a `wishlist' bug report against umich-ldap... Nikita
