srm/arc question...

i must be doing something wrong here i think...
my axppci33 came with arc and i have flashed
it with srm from the 1.6 version of firmware
dec puts out on cd's...

now commands like man, echo, and memtest do
not work from the srm console... they are 
all 'not found'

am i doing something wrong or am i sol?
