problem with dpkg-shlibdeps & fakeroot

Hi all.

I'm having problems with dpkg-shlibdeps and fakeroot...

rover@bisonte:~$ dpkg-shlibdeps -O /bin/ls
no utmp entry available, using value of LOGNAME ("rover") at /usr/lib/dpkg/controllib.pl line 16.
shlibs:Depends=libc6.1
               ^^^^^^^
rover@bisonte:~$ fakeroot
sh-2.00# dpkg-shlibdeps -O /bin/ls
no utmp entry available and LOGNAME not defined; using uid of process (0) at /usr/lib/dpkg/controllib.pl line 29.
shlibs:Depends=libc6, libc6.1
               ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

dpkg-shlibdeps behaves differently with or without fakeroot... what
is going on?

I've libc6.1 version 2.0.5c-0.1 and dpkg-dev 1.4.0.19

Ideas?
