Ok...if someone will tell me how to make boot and install disks, I'll
handle these. I honestly wish I knew more about how these are generated
since I have more free time than most others here do. If someone wants to
update me on this, I'd gladly take it over.

Last I checked, Nikita lacked a Miata kernel. I could probably generate
one in a matter of hours, but I would need to know what the "standard"
driver set is that I should include first. On a slightly off-topic note,
should we make a FAQ on the Alphas regarding hardware and boot procedures?
I find the Redhat-based FAQs to be lacking so far...

I don't think so. I'll go over the entire base directory this week and
at least provide a list of things that should be updated. Since I've
recompiled over half of the base packages already, I probably can package
up some new versions if needed. If you notice something before I do,
please let me know (I do Alpha stuff at least 2 hours a day while at
work and countless hours away from work).

On an even-more-side-note, I have just written to the smail maintainer
regarding the problems with smail. Apparently he hasn't done an update
since April and even that one wasn't up to the new package format. I've
loosely offered to take over smail and have halfway converted it to
glibc-2 and the new packaging format already, so this shouldn't be a
problem. I know that the dependency problem was an Alpha bug report...I
just want everyone to know that it's being handled.

Bdale, I'll write to you privately shortly...I have a maintainer issue to
bring up with you...(don't worry, it's not bad news) :)

Chris
