I should have said that right before gdb says that the process was killed by SIGKILL, I received a notice that konsole wasn't responding and asked if I wanted to kill the process, and I answered "yes".

That's all I have on konsole.

If you want to tell me either on or off list how to give konsole a gdb command that will help others fix the problem, I will be happy to try to help.

Once you have installed with the alpha4 image, you can upgrade to the
latest fixes from Buster with the network?
