Bug#746537: espeakedit: Incompatible with version of data in espeak-data
Package: espeakedit
Version: 1.46.02-4
Severity: important
I installed espeakedit and espeak-data and then copy the data like so:
cp -a /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/espeak-data /home/olly
I then run espeakedit, and get an error box containing the text:
Wrong version of espeak-data at:
/home/olly/espeak-data
Version 0x14709 (expects 0x14600)
It seems the versions of espeakedit and espeak-data are incompatible,
which seems to make espeakedit unusable to a new user, unless you track
down and download a suitable version of espeak-data for yourself (so
I've set the severity to "important").
It looks like there's a newer upstream version of espeakedit available
(1.48.03) so perhaps updating the package to that would help.
Perhaps the dependency on espeak-data should also be suitably versioned.
