Re: Missing braille durring boot
Hello Mario,
At 14:54 05.03.2009, you wrote:
As you indicated in another mail, /etc/rcS.d/S25brltty is also present, right?
That's correct.
Where does it point to, i.e. what does "readlink /etc/rcS.d/S25brltty" say?
It points to "../init.d/brltty".
2. Alternatively, you can edit /etc/default/bootlogd and set the variable
BOOTLOGD_ENABLE=Yes. Then, reboot and after the bootup inspect the file
/var/log/boot. Is there any error message from BRLTTY during
boot in there?
Yes.
Here it is:
Thu Mar 5 16:29:49 2009: Starting Braille terminal driver:
brltty/sbin/brltty: error while loading shared libraries:
libgpm.so.2: cannot open shared object
file: No such file or directory
The strange thing is that BRLTTY can be started just fine via
/etc/init.d/brltty after the ssystem is up and running.
Additionally, on what type of machine did you install? Is the serial
port a native serial port, or a USB-to-serial adaptor? What device specifier
did you use, and what is the setting of braille-device in your
/etc/brltty.conf?
The serial port is a native one, and it's specified with /dev/ttyS0
in /etc/brltty.conf.
Durring install, I specified it as ttyS0, and BRLTTY was running just
fine within D I.
I also saw "Running BRLTTY" near the end of install.
