If there are no problems with older kernels, you can try to bisect it.
Ingo, what was the last working one, something from etch, 2.6.something I
guess?

Well, when we built the last packages before we started short before christmas again? 4 years ago? So I guess it was some 2.6 kernel, maybe 2.6.39, but I'm not sure... let's have a look into the database:

id | packagename | version | dist | arch | begin | endtime | buildd | state
--------+--------------------------------------+--------------------------------+----------+------+----------------------------+----------------------------+---------+------------------
187257 | libgee | 0.5.0-3 | unstable | m68k | 2010-03-09 21:31:46.819228 | 2010-03-09 21:52:03.330563 | arrakis | maybe-successful 187254 | libgda4 | 4.0.7-1 | unstable | m68k | 2010-03-09 21:25:10.46755 | 2010-03-09 21:31:46.745298 | arrakis | maybe-successful 187249 | libg15render | 1.3.0~svn316-2.1 | unstable | m68k | 2010-03-09 20:05:04.06684 | 2010-03-09 21:25:10.343751 | arrakis | maybe-successful 187242 | libfishsound | 0.9.2-3 | unstable | m68k | 2010-03-09 19:14:10.436685 | 2010-03-09 20:05:03.985448 | arrakis | maybe-successful 187241 | libextractor | 1:0.5.23+dfsg-7 | unstable | m68k | 2010-03-09 19:04:33.925975 | 2010-03-09 19:07:05.824475 | arrakis | maybe-successful 187240 | libexif | 0.6.19-1 | unstable | m68k | 2010-03-09 19:00:50.947934 | 2010-03-09 19:04:33.829453 | arrakis | maybe-successful

So, arrakis has built the last packages in March 2010. Looking at the stats table:

dtstamp | buildd | uptime | users | lavg | memtotal | memfree | swaptotal | swapfree
----------------------------+---------+----------------+-------+-------------------+----------+---------+-----------+----------
2010-03-10 21:26:19.974452 | arrakis | 638 days 5:33 | 2 | 0.30 0.15 0.08 | 127136 | 19880 | 880568 | 865628 2010-03-10 15:26:16.684836 | arrakis | 637 days 23:33 | 2 | 0.08 0.06 0.01 | 127136 | 4208 | 880568 | 865628 2010-03-10 09:26:26.079167 | arrakis | 637 days 17:33 | 2 | 0.14 0.10 0.23 | 127136 | 4520 | 880568 | 865628

So there was an uptime of >600 days for Arrakis in March 2010. Now, we're getting close:

arrakis:~# uprecords
# Uptime | System Boot up
----------------------------+---------------------------------------------------
1 653 days, 00:46:51 | Linux 2.6.24-m68k Tue Jun 10 14:24:05 2008 2 430 days, 19:38:42 | Linux 2.6.12-1-amiga Thu Apr 15 16:23:20 2010 3 146 days, 20:00:33 | Linux 2.2.20 Thu Feb 19 17:47:23 2004 4 104 days, 22:46:55 | Linux 2.2.20 Wed Jul 13 12:32:32 2005 5 94 days, 11:49:04 | Linux 2.2.20 Fri Nov 5 11:41:28 2004 6 80 days, 03:48:06 | Linux 2.6.12-1-amiga Thu Aug 10 08:47:42 2028 7 75 days, 19:23:32 | Linux 2.2.20 Sun Jun 15 23:54:54 2003 8 71 days, 22:17:36 | Linux 2.6.24-m68k Sat Mar 8 14:38:39 2008 9 71 days, 21:35:17 | Linux 3.2.0-2-amiga Sun Jul 22 15:15:35 2012 10 68 days, 19:15:18 | Linux 2.6.12-1-amiga Sun Dec 23 18:27:33 2007

So, I would say: the last well-working kernel seems to be Linux 2.6.24-m68k which ran for 653 days on Arrakis.
