I'm pretty sure that the IDE-hang bug in that kernel would be triggered by 
any NIC, SONIC or otherwise, in the LC/Quarda 630.

The spec sheet says the LC/Quadra 630 will accept one comm-slot or one 
LC-PDS card. I don't know which is faster, but my experience says the 
SONIC cards are more likely to be comm-slot. I'm pretty sure that 
comm-slot II is found only on powermacs.
