any progress with 2.6.16.x kernels for my Macintosh Quadra 700 ?

Hi there,

Is there some progress regarding 2.6.16.x kernels for my Macintosh Quadra 700 ?
Right now the machine boots to the login: prompt 3 in 10 times.

Are there more recent kernels available that will solve my problem ?
It's now two months but well, I'm not in a hurry :)
