Well, the optimization level is already at -O1 ('-O', but that's the
same thing), so there isn't much lowering you could do anymore.

This version of gcc segfaults fairly often when building m68k binaries.
There isn't much you can do, except waiting for the next version (I have
yet to find a package that does not build with gcc-4.0 while it does
with -3.4 or -snapshot).

Or, if you're up to that, fix the bug in the compiler of course. I'll
get you a virtual beer if you do so ;-)
