problem with amiga +debian3 - got X working now

Thankyou to every1 who offered help/advice
ive got X windows working fine now, and booting straight into it,,
fixed the problem with the clock by setting the system clock under linux
(linux automatically sets the clock to the correct date now, and the
hardware clock is still correct under amigaos)

the mouse drivers are set different from what i read in old docs -
//dev/mouse isnt listed in the config so i linked //dev/amigamouse to
//dev/atibus and used that option. the keyboard works as keyboard type
amiga as in previous versions (see the archive for this list- thats where i
got the config to put in //etc/X11/ ), the only problem i have now is the
screen opens the right size but in a crappy resolution so im working on
that now. if i can get all this done i will right it up in a .txt file if
debian fancy including it because the current ones seem a little dated

SteveH:
i installed my system over ftp: -
there should be an option in the initial setup (where u setup
partitions/devices etc.) to configure a ppp (dialup) connection. if u have
passed this already then u can set it up by typing "pppconfig" at the
command prompt. the "packages.gz" file contains the info on where the
packages are on the ftp server, i dont know much about the CD install, but
i assume it is a mirror of the ftp:// site so these files should be under
debian/dists/woody/main/binary-m68k/Packages.gz on the CD (could be
"stable" instead of "woody")
if u want to install by ftp:// then u need to run "apt-get update" to
download the latest versions of these files but the initial install should
have done that. try "base-config" at the command line to run the base
system setup again and look for the option to configure a ppp connection,
if u are copying from and old CD (debian2.2 or kernel2.2?) the file will be
under "potato" not "woody" and will be out of date, u might want to try
using ftp on ur amiga to connect to ftp.debian.org and have a look on there
to see if u have the latest versions. dont give up! if its looking for the
packages file then you are very nearly there!
