OK. I used binutils 2.10.91.0.2-2 with the ld patch, and gcc 1:2.95.3-6
from source 2.95.3.ds4-6, and kernel-headers-2.2.10 2.2.10-3.

I hope the replacement HD I ordered for this Mac turns up soon.
