Re: PEX X font errors on SE/30...(was: Xserver/Xwindows on SE/30)

I did the whole adbmouse>mouse thing and the replacing of the XF86 Config File.
...aha..... Woops. I didn't look through all the q&a's

Q: xfree dies with a fatal error, complaining about the PEX fonts
A: No, it does not. Its a warning, not a fatal error. We all get this
warning. You have some other problem, read the _complete_ error message.

woops.
But the thing is, it _is_ fatal, in the sense that X server shuts down right after it.

Here it comes:

Operating System: Linux 2.0.36 m68k [ELF]
Configured drivers:
FBDev: Server for frame buffer device
	(Patchlevel 7): mfb, iplan2p2, iplan2p4, iplan2p8, ilbm, afb, cfb8
(using VT number 7)

XF86Config: /etc/X11/XF86Config

PEXExtentionInit: Couldn't open default PEX font file Roman_M
Waiting for X server to shut down...

Can anyone help me now?

www.debian.org/~cts/debian-m68k-faq
Ya, I had read that, or rather, skimmed. *smack myself*

As Clay said, you did not read my sig. You did not send the complete error
message.
Just a guess, is your mouse properly installed (/dev/mouse?)

<Clay>
IIRC, the PEX font error is _not_ fatal. That info based on Christians(sp?) glorious faq on installing X-windows on a slink distribution.

 > NOTE: When all this is done, I'm thinking about writing a howto on
 installing X to systems that don't have it...err something. I know I
found it a bit rough around the edges with all the dependecies and
this font issue. Is there a need? If so, I'd be honored.
Good idea, but I dont think its needed. Installing X in potato works like a
charm, or did any1 experience problems there?
You might want to try to install potato from scratch and update the install
guides. There work is needed.

Hmm...if I go for potato, then I'll work on it
