Enabling FPU emulation

Hi all, I've been able to successfully install Linux from a Debian 2.1r2 cd
on my Performa 600CD, but as i anticipated, the OS crashes during the boot
sequence, right after it mounts the root partition and starts trying to load
modules, as a result of my lack of a 68882 FPU for the 68030 CPU. I was
wondering if there was any way to enable FPU emulation support using the
kernel the comes with debian 2.1r2, or otherwise I'd like to use one of the
newer kernels from the mac 68k linux site which i know have FPU emulation. The
only problem I've had trying this latter option is that i dont know exactly
how to have the installer make use of the newer kernel since it looks for the
default debian kernel contained in a .bin rescue disk image rather then in the
tar.gz format that the newer kernels are given in. In anyone can give me a
clue as to how to use a newer kernel during the instalation, or any other way
to get FPU emulation going, i'd SOOO appreciate it. With that I conclude my
rambling. ;-) Thanks a mil in advance fellas!
