Re: I volunteer

I know Rick Cook(i think that is his name) has compiled a 2.2.14 kernel
with almost every needed module for a mac that seems to work quite nicely.
I have not gotten any of the modules to work, but I have a feel it is
because I need to update some sort of library(i get a bunch of undefined
symbols when i insmod it). The kernel has ppp as a module and also has a
working msdos floppy format support(useful if you are trying to install)
Anyway, it seems to be a very nice kernel, maybe should be the one to be
included on the mac boot floppies(sorry, i really don't have knowledge/time
to do anything but test other ppls floppies). I've tested it on a the
equiv of a Quadra 640(well its actually a performa but with all the
upgrades its much closer to the Quadra configuration then performa)
Anyway, I'd recomend the kernel for anyone having trouble.

On a semi-related note(now that i've blabbered on a bit) Anyone have any
suggestions of how to get insmod to work with the above kernel? Do i need
to upgrade to potato first to install(damn catch 22...well i *could*
download a bunch of *.deb on the mac side but that'd get kinda messy)

Anyway, the problem is i do an insmod ppp.o(or any other module) and it
gives me a series of errors about undefined symbols
