Try to read /usr/doc/HOWTO/mini/DHCP.gz or /usr/doc/HOWTO/mini/DHCP.html

If you don't have it locally on your Mac you can always read it on Linux
Documentation Project site (http://linuxdoc.org if I remember correctly).
