If it supports AppleTalk (is that the same as LocalTalk? I've configured
a few Mac printers with Linux but I only learnt what I needed to know).

If so then you can use the netatalk package to connect with it, works
really well.

netatalk - Appletalk user binaries for GNU/Linux
macgate - User-space programs for Appletalk-IP routing.
libatalk1 - Appletalk library for GNU/Linux
