Hi, in my /etc/X11/XF86Config I've got a 'Mode' entry that gives me an
800x600 display, which works ok, and then in the 'Screen' section for
fbdev there is a line for 'Virtual' which sets the virtual desktop
size. The default for this is 1152 900. This means that if I move the
pointer too far, windows get scrolled off the display and I end up
spending too much time 'chasing' them around. I tried setting the
'Virtual' entry to 800 600 but that resulted in a corrupt display.
Setting it to 801 600 works ok and now only scrolls the display 1 pixel
left or right, but I'd like to actually get it right. If I use the
'default' (640x480) setting in the 'Screen' section for fbdev, this
virtual desktop feature is disabled - no scrolling at all, so it must
be possible to disable it. When I tried commenting out the 'Virtual'
entry, X wouldn't start and complained about no valid modes, but I
couldn't find anything about setting up special fb modes for use with
no virtual settings.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Regards,

LeeE
