I am using 2.033pl1 12.27.1998 kernel on a Quadra 700 with a 1 GB external
drive as my linux space. The drive is mostly linux, with a small mac
partition.
when I boot it comes up as:
esp0: message in mis-carriage.
Vendor: HP Model: 1.050 GB #A1 Rev: 9004
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Detected scsi disk sdb at scsi0, channel 0, id 3, lun 0
But when I boot with _any_ later kernel (i tried 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 kernels)
the drive no longer shows up.
Any ideas?

p.s. still looking for X on Mac tips..
