ADB Frame Screen Echo on Mac SE/30

Hello -
I recently installed on a Mac SE/30 (32MB RAM).  The installation seemed to
go smoothly.  However, after the installation, when I input from the
keyboard, the display echos the full HEX ADB frame instead of echoing the
character.  The input is valid, and is recognized by the system.  Everything
else seems normal.  System generated screen output is normal.

Any clues about what I need to do to see the typed characters?
