Hi Chris and friends, In addition to the six cameras used for DebConf and purchased in 2017, the DebConf Video Team owns a full set of all the hardware needed to record a room (Audio, Computer, Networking). We carry this kit around Europe to record talks at Debian events. The hardware is also sporadically used for other FLOSS events in the Paris area, under supervision of a member of the Video Team, as that's where the hardware is being stored. Our audio gear, which is probably the most critical element of properly recording talks, has been slowly decaying and is now in dire need of replacement. The last event we recorded (MiniDebConf Hamburg), was done on borrowed audio hardware from CCC, which is far from being as flexible as having our own, reliable, and known beforehand, hardware. The team has settled on a kit list that will be able to serve us for the forseeable future, at all Debian events in Europe. A pro-forma invoice with most of the shopping list, from thomann.de, stands as follows: 324152 4x Shure BLX4R S8 1192,00 EUR - wireless mic receivers 156335 1x Shure UA844+SWB-E 749,00 EUR - wireless mic antenna distributor 324146 2x Shure BLX1 S8 258,00 EUR - wireless mic beltpack 326924 2x Shure MX153 T 390,00 EUR - headset 324172 2x Shure BLX2/SM58 S8 358,00 EUR - wireless handheld microphones 336029 1x Shure WA621 14,90 EUR - end caps for microphones 212419 1x Gator GRR-6L 129,00 EUR - 6U rack flight case 131515 2x Thon Rack Drawer 1U 40 110,00 EUR - rackmount drawers 122452 1x Thon Rack Panel 2U Air Vents 5,50 EUR - rack accessories 107345 2x Thon Rack Panel 2U 9,80 EUR - rack accessories 402414 1x Thon Rack Tray 1U 12,90 EUR - rack accessories Shipping to France 0,00 EUR Total price: 3229,10 EUR We need to add some sundries for rack mounting and power distribution, which puts the expected budget (+/- 10%) at 3750 EUR. Ideally, the bulk of the order would go through Debian France directly (the hardware will be stored in Paris) rather than running it through a credit card, although that may be doable if needed. Please let us know if you have any questions! Thanks for considering, -- Nicolas Dandrimont on behalf of the DebConf Video Team BOFH excuse #452: Somebody ran the operating system through a spelling checker.
