We failed in the end and paulproteus volunteered to try himself in my VPS. I was late sending him an account to access my server (sent yesterday) so I guess we'll have an idea about how things are going in few days.
I'm swamped today, but tomorrow I hope to get back to looking into this.Note that MC isn't really designed for the streaming part. It's most useful for post-conference organization+display of videos.
