Bringing a towel isn't a big deal. Bringing bedding plus clothes on an international trip really kind of is a big ask. So, if you're really just talking about sheets, it doesn't seem like that much. But you're probably talking about sheets, pillow and blankets. For one I find it challenging to pack all that, clothes, and whatever devices I want for hacking into one checked bag for international flights.
