following Jack's e-mail about volunteering for the website team, I noticed that http://debconf15.debconf.org/volunteer.xhtml referred to the "old" teams structure and I updated it. Please have a look and make any additional changes, as you see required.
Thanks for doing that!
I agree that the current content is not ideal. At this point I believe most of if could be moved to another page such as "Teams Structure", keeping the history, and cleaning the "Teams" page to go straight to the point. That said, I don't think https://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/Teams is a good entry-point for volunteers to get started. There is way too much text and internals/details/history, and no clear instructions on what to do next. Plus, there are only IRC nicks, which are okay for us, but not for someone who doesn't know us.
I am working on the wiki, if you check each team's page you'll see my edits in the past weeks. I'm importing links and contents from the manual, updating team members lists, etc. But if anyone else is available to help, that would be awesome. With all the other things going on at the same time, that is the pace I could go so far.Would someone be able to make this their project? Or does anyone already have plans here? What do the chairs think?
I agree the Teams page should be the main point of entrance for new volunteers. And I think each team could have a list of volunteers listed along with their members. This would include people who want to help in the current edition, but not necessarily commit to future years. Videoteam has usually a long list of volunteers, but all the other teams should also have people, for instance, local people that are helping and should be given credits.
This all seems like a task for the coord team. If anyone is willing to help, please do so ;-)
