There is no legal requirement to do a balance sheet at the end of the
year (for an e.V. of the size we are speaking about), unless the
entity decides itself it needs an balance sheet. The only thing you
need to produce is "how much is on the bank accounts, available in
cash and what is the sum of income and expenses", and if the books are
kept properly and electronically this isn't so much effort (and
definitly far less than to deal with such a strange fiscal year).
