More attendees enjoy the dinner, because they are all in, but it is
less relevant, because every day we have a (less fancy) dinner. Some
DebConfs have skipped a special conference dinner (off the top of my
head, and in recent times, DC10), and it is hardly noticeed. But (even
after often discussing that we have too little budget for a daytrip to
happen, year after year) we have always held daytrips. And at least to
me, they are all very memorable. I can still give you some great
social and environmental highlights of all of the daytrips I have been
to.
