It was always clear that _some_ things should be brought. But not
defined really what.

Which freq. are they using?

We can get 2 FRS/GMRS (standard in the USA, but not Europe) walkie
talkies borrowed  from someone here. I'd like to buy two more via
internet (for me) in the US right now and if anybody from the US can do
me a favor of bringing them (please contact me in private, thanks!), we
could use them as well for DebConf. Maybe some more people can bring
some of these Walkie-Talkies which all operates together...

Yes, we definetively should write some days before DebConf to the people
a mail with some important information including a note about this.
