blue background and white text (or _maybe_ white background and red text).

then there is "only" blue+green as the main colors (plus black+white and red 
from the swirl and some texts...)

but hey, I'm no artist :) But this extra orange doesnt look good IMO.

Also, looking at http://www.debconf.org/ again, I think the news entry about 
2012 (on that very url) would look a lot better if it featured the dc12 logo.
