I'm starting to get pissed off with this.

1) we must not be seen to violate copyright knowingly.

2) the free sources have been pointed out _repeatedly_, and are of higher
quality than anything I've seen from the non-free sources, for the map
data at least - the POI data may be more detailed, but I refer you to
point 1)

Why is this so hard to understand?

I agree, and I've pointed that out every time I've suggested
alternative data sources.

It is unacceptable for you all to be going "La La La, we're not
listening" about the fact that the good work done is currently rendered
useless by the illegal content.

The site as it stands shouldn't even be on-line.

Instead of wasting time further on this dead data, how about fixing any
wrinkles on OSM so that its more complete around the venue?

It's already better than the non-free probably copyright violating
alternative anyway from what I can see, but there seem to be some gaps
that would be best filled in by a local.

For example, we've somehow got to this point without filling in the
building of Banski Dvor (it was marked as a monument, but the outline
had not been traced). Likewise, Hotel Bosnia had been traced in detail,
but the outlines had not been marked as being a building, so it was not
being rendered. Likewise the Crkva Hrista Spasitelja, had a node, but
not an outline, so was not being rendered on the map either.

These buildings all have distinctive outlines (well, all bar Banski Dvor)
so will be useful for navigation to people arriving at the venue.

If people had been doing something useful (i.e. updating OSM) instead of
playing with poisoned toys, we would have an even better map around the
venue than we already have -- as it is, we just have some more of this
fruitless discussion.

I've now fixed the things mentioned above, but it would be much better
if someone that was familiar with the place did the tracing, rather than
me making guesses from the Bing imagery. For instance, I've no idea if
the buildings to the north of what I've marked as Banski Dvor are part
of it, or not - they should probably be mapped anyway. Also, the oddly
shaped building to the east of Banski Dvor that I just traced may need
to be given a name, or tagged with its purpose.

If the reason this has not been done already is because people were too
timid, get hold of me on IRC (fil), and I'll talk you through the process.

Cheers, Phil.
