According to my very humble experience of talking with *potentially*
interested sponsors as DPL in the last few months of sponsor chasing, I
believe the drawbacks of not having the material linked overcomes the
tracking benefit.
I had to exchange emails with various people asking "where is the
sponsoring brochure" and get back to them. That is perfectly fine on my
side (if there is a benefit), but it is easy to imagine that less
motivated potential sponsors simply didn't bother to mail and just went
away.
Cheers.
