I'd also noticed this as a problem, and agree entirely: for any
announcements, DebConf itself is only the second week.
In fact I'd suggest we should advertise it as the 24th to the 30th (the
actual talk days), since otherwise people who don't study carefully what
we write (almost everyone) will assume they should arrive on the 22rd
and leave on the 1st.
