DebConf 27 in *your* city?

So, we are nearing the end of the conference, and we must prepare one of
the sessions many people expect with great anticipation: The presentation
of where we might go to for DebConf27.

So, do you think you can offer for a great experience for us Debianers in
your country? Your city? Please tell us, and prepare a short (~5 minutes)
presentation highlighting where you are, how would you expect the venue to
be, who could be a part of your Local Team, why would it be interesting for
us to go there, etc.

DebConf, as you know by now, is *not* about tourism. It is also *not* about
politics (so we can consider your bid, no matter the government you
suffer/enjoy -- within some limits, of course: the important part is *who
organizes it*). And organizing a DebConf is a great opportunity for your
friends in Debian to better understand your life, and for your friends at
home to understand what does this weird project you have decided to work
with is about.

Oh, and very important: The decision is *not* to be taken tomorrow. We will
see some bidders, and will start thinking about them, but the actual
decision will be done in ≈early 2026 by the DebConf Committee.

So... The DC27 *preliminary* presentation will be tomorrow, at 16:30, in
Méridienne. Please mail the DebConf Committee <debconf-ctte@debian.org>
stating you want to present a bid. Grab us around the venue and tell us
your intentions, if you can. When you have a presentation ready, mail us
the presentation. If you are followig along from home, you can send us a
video and we will present it (keep it close to 5 minutes, please!)

Please don't wait until the last minute to send us the presentation: We
will try to assemble them together and present from a single computer to
reduce the time lost, and maximize the effective presentation time

Greetings,

    – Gunnar
on behalf of the DebConf Committee.
