Thanks for all the nice suggestions! I wrote to the people at Taiwan Adventures [1] to get some price + ideas of hikes. If anyone cares to join me it would be very nice! I'm not sure I'll be able to afford a guide alone... Their High Mount Hikes [2] look nice, but I'd be up to anything if others want to do something easier. Worst case scenario, I guess I'll try to find a room not to far from Shei-Pa National Park or Taroko National Park and do a bunch of 1-day hikes.
