[Debconf-discuss] Could/should we invite Tangent Animation and let them screen 'Run Ozzy Run' if they want to ?

Hi all,

I have been thinking about Open Day in Canada. I saw this sometime
back and thought maybe it might be a good fit

Extract from the blog post -

Tangent Animation, Canada (2+)
This Toronto+Winnipeg based animation studio recently completed their
first 100% Blender made feature film – Run Ozzy Run. They currently
work on their second feature, a scifi story with robots. Tangent hired
own developers to work on Blender and Cycles, and supports 1 year of
two full time developers in Blender Institute to work on Blender
Viewport.

The studio is/would be closer to us. If they agree to screen for us,
it would be fun for young and old. It should also give an opportunity
esp. for the young to know of a career option as well. They could do a
small hour or so workshop which would be beneficial for debconf
attendees as well .

It might also be an opportunity to learn if Debian could in any way
also enhance, make it better for blender workflows.

What do people think ? Maybe somebody from the debconf local team
could connect with them or if you want, I could send them a small mail
asking if they would be interested to showcase their work in the
conference (on behalf of debconf), lead a workshop and share with
debconf attendees whatever troubles they had and see if Debian as a
whole can help solve some of them.

I could either CC debian-team or CC specific people for that purpose
just in case they need some help with logistics or something.

[$] dpkg -l blender

Please let me know what do people think ?

I have CC'ed the current and one of the past maintainers of the
package, maybe they might have some specific insight which I lack.
