[Debconf-discuss] RAID1 on a laptop / bcache

Dear DebConfers,

I've had a discussion with one of you at DC14, and since I don't
remember who that was, here it is for everyone! ;)

We were talking about the idea of using a SDCard in a RAID1
configuration with a rotational disk, mainly for speed. The basic
idea was to put all the readily read stuff on a RAID1 with the
rotational disk flagged --write-mostly, so that all reads come from
the (fast) SDCard.

Meanwhile, I have discovered a better approach:

  https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/bcache.txt

which looks really cool for this sort of job.

Now just someone has to package bcache-tools ;)
