Turning moderation off
The Debconf5 mailing lists are moderated for people who don't post from
their subscription address (the SMTP envelope sender address is
examined, not the From: header). This is a spam prevention measure.
Debconf5 traffic is picking up pace and becoming more time-critical
every day. This means that waiting for messages to be moderated may be
worse than getting a few spams, so I'm going to turn off the moderation
now. The lists have a spam filter (crm114) in front of them, so
hopefully it will really be just a few spams.
If the amount of spam that gets through will be too much, we'll figure
out some other solution.
