These are not rants. I referred to a real problem as Sun is _very_ 
careful about license issues, Sun asked for a permission to distribute growisofs.
At the same time (May 2006 IIRC), I ave been informed that Sun started to
distribute cdrtools including DVD support.

Because Sun is very careful about license issues, Sun e.g. stopped distributing 
libcdio in Auhust 2007 (Sun's Lawyers discovered that libcdio, being an official 
FSF project, is in conflict with the GPL).

BTW: In a few weeks we will have a portable and legal replacement for libcdio 
in Solaris for playing audio CDs that works by calling a pipe to 
"cdda2wav -interactive".
