I asked myself the same. But i decided to stay with
that proposal because it allows to put it into a
larger frame of info messages about various topics.
One could want to report info about the drive or its
usage status.

Redundancy is not in vain, after all. It confirms
that you got the right line in your hands.
"Current:" for example, is a bit ambivalent and
would need an extension like "Current-Media:" or
"Current-Profile:" anyway.

So if we need lengthy names for the sake of
uniqueness why not start a clean name space
layout ?
It won't become a tapeworm language like .xmi .

After all, it is only an illustration of what
i would experience as a helpful media info command.
A soup cooked from mail headers, /proc filesystem,
and what i saw of current cdrecord -minfo and -atip.

Important for me would only be that it is unambigous
and does not demand too much of state info in the
program which consumes the messages.
That's why i propose to tag each line of output.
So it is friendly to grep, sed and awk.

Have a nice day :)

Thomas
