It is not easy to discuss the cdrecord-ProDVD topic in any
language. Thus i prefer to stay quite neutral.
Up to the last few days i thought that the issues around
cdrecord and DVD were legal and interpersonal ones. Now i
learned that there are a few other things involved.
I will learn further, probably.

Ok. You both don't see any technical truth in the rumor
spread by the person who tried to bite off Volker's
head. Nobody else stood up. File closed.

Hm ... i tried much, but i never tried -force.
blank=full ? My Cdrecord-ProDVD-Clone 2.01b31 does not
know "full". It's about time i try the new 2.01.01b03 ...
... nope ... no blank=full ...
Let me try it with "all" :
$ /usr/bin/cdrecord-prodvd.sh dev=0,0,0 -force blank=all

At least with this burner, no blanking or formatting treatment
via cdrecord-ProDVD or growisofs did ever help after the
media went bad.
I -force blanked another media by cdrecord-ProDVD and could
dvd+rw-format it to Restricted Overwrite afterwards.
Nevertheless, growisofs aborted on OPC:
:-[ PERFORM OPC failed with SK=3h/ASC=73h/ACQ=03h]: Input/output error
I also tried the new growisofs option which avoids OPC.
No success:
:-[ WRITE@LBA=20h failed with SK=3h/ASC=0Ch/ACQ=00h]: Input/output error
:-( write failed: Input/output error

I am not aware of computer DVD-ROM drives which refuse
to read successfully verified DVD+RW.
You surely got more drives at hand than i, but within
my own range of (mostly hearsay) experience there seems
to be a tendency that +RW is more reliable.
Possibly one should really start a multi-dimensional
database in the web and record all the successful and
not so successful combinations of drives and media.
BTW: As my share of regression testing:
Cdrecord-ProDVD-Clone 2.01.01b03 runs fine on SuSE 9.0,
with my LG burner and 4x DVD+RW.
Have a nice day :)
