What's your media? DVD-RW? If so, maybe it's the same problem
I'm having with the Plextor PX-716UF. Try fully blanking the
disk first, as in:
dvd+rw-format -force=full -blank=full /dev/cd0c
even if it's a "virgin" DVD-RW. This shouldn't be necessary,
and it's not really a good solution, but it might get you a
little further along.
