I repeated to tell the Linux kernel developers how this could be handled
more correctly but they don't listen to me. As they don't have the needed
know how to do it themselvs, it will probalbly remain at the current
indefensible state.

But /usr/src/linux is not set by, used by, or needed by the kernel. Since it is not part of the kernel it is not dependable. As most people understand...
