growisofs TOSHIBA SD-R5002 problem

Hello,

After getting my hands on a dvd-burner I'am eager to get it running.
nI the past I loaned a Lite-on dvd+rw wich worked out of the box, but
with my own Toshiba SD-R5002 dvd-rw I run into problems.
After ruining an dvd-r I decided to do further testing with an dvd-rw to
prevent my wallet to run empty...
Enough talks:

Blanking works fine. (sorry formatting)

:-! "COMMAND SEQUENCE ERROR"@LBA=0h. Is media being read?
:-! the LUN appears to be stuck at 0h, retrying in 5 secs...

I'am using dvd+rw-tools-5.21.4.10.8 on a 2.4.26 kernel, scsi-emulation
built-in and only scsi-cdrom support so ide-cdroms aren't around.
I do not use any kind of automounters.
I've seen more talk with the same item in this list, but none of them
gave me an answer.
Is there any way to debug this? (or maybe I'am missing something?)
