You have a kernel bug.
It needs to be fixed before you may do anything else.
A message containing "status: 0x0 (GOOD STATUS)" may never occur if
the kernel returns sane data structurec to libscg.....
Unfortunately, it does not make sense anymore to send a bug report to
the Linus kernel maintainers (which don't seem to like CD/DVD recording).
Try to install a working OS (e.g. Solaris 10)
wwws.sun.com/software/solaris/solaris-express/get.html
and retry.
