Running vlc from another machine.
At the console,
peter@dalton:~$ vlc *.WAV
starts a vlc instance and produces audio.
The same command via a telnet connection is
not so successful.
peter@dalton:~$ vlc *.WAV
VLC media player 1.1.3 The Luggage (revision exported)

Also, vlc doesn't recognize the display as iceweasel does.
peter@dalton:~$ vlc --display=:0 *.WAV
VLC media player 1.1.3 The Luggage (revision exported)
vlc: unknown option or missing mandatory argument `--display=:0'
Try `vlc --help' for more information.
Does anyone have a clever way to make vlc cooperate?
Thanks, ... Peter E.
