That one seems to have went off without a hitch
> amixer set PCM unmute
amixer set PCM unmute
amixer: Unable to find simple control 'PCM',0
Then went to root and tried again:
sudo amixer set PCM unmute
No protocol specified
xcb_connection_has_error() returned true
Simple mixer control 'PCM',0
Capabilities: pvolume pswitch pswitch-joined penum
Playback channels: Front Left - Front Right
Limits: Playback 0 - 31
Mono:
Front Left: Playback 0 [0%] [-34.50dB] [on]
Front Right: Playback 0 [0%] [-34.50dB] [on]
It appears the left and right are `on' but yet I cannot hear any
sounds. At least I am not able to make a sound with something like:
mplayer /anex2/music/W.P.A._CaseyBillWelden.wav
MPlayer SVN-r33713-4.6.1 (C) 2000-2011 MPlayer Team
mplayer: could not connect to socket

And the numbers spin by but no sound. Yes, I do have speakers
connected... hehe.
And I hear noise at the speakers when I pull the plug in and out.
