removing just-installed kernel

Hi
I am compiling a 2.6.16 and have /boot full of files from kernels I am trying-and-erroring. how do I reomve kernels I just installed.

says
/boot# dpkg -P kernel-image-2.4.18.030309
but there is no kernel-image-xxx in my boot as you see.
